Balance comes into play within every individual’s lives daily. Whether that be for work, school, socially, through creativity, or working towards one’s goals.

Balance to me is being mindful of how I spend my time & energy day to day. I balance out quality time with friends & family, as well as ensuring I have enough time & energy for school & work. Reminding myself that I don’t have to be at a 100% energy level for everything helps me feel in control. If you try to do everything at 100% you will be overwhelmed & feel like you have too much on your plate.

I create balance in my life by offsetting the periods of stress with things I enjoy! Fitness & health are two things that are important to me, so I make sure I have time to lift weights & meditate before or after my shift in order to meet my personal goals. I create personal goals annually so that I have an objective to work towards. Accomplishing a goal I’ve set for myself makes me feel like I am moving forward, and also keeps me focused! I also feel that goal setting has created equilibrium in my life; I feel that creating goals outside of my job ensures that I have goals to accomplish that are personally important! My goals outside of work allow me to be an individual and do things I deem personally important while also making sure I can maintain my career!
